The industrial base of the defense and security sector is a very topical subject in the current extremely tense geopolitical context. Both at the level of the EU and the member states, there is an urgent need to quickly restore this base based on dual-use technologies, the contribution of SMEs, companies that have a civilian profile, being called to investigate a business model more flexible, open to military applications. On the same note, military research can lead to civilian solutions and innovations.
Although the subject of this base, in particular the configuration, identification and connection of actors has been an objective of several strategies both on the line of defense and competitiveness and export, we cannot say that we currently have an industrial base developed and connected to the models of dynamic businesses developing in most competing geopolitical spaces.
